本所致力於結合臨床與基礎醫學人才,建立起轉譯醫學之相關研究,以達成本所之發展特色,期望能培養出優秀的醫學研究人才。未來配合學校與附設醫院發展精準醫學Precision Medicine之政策,將致力於轉譯醫學與精準醫學Precision Medicine之深耕。
特色:結合基礎與臨床醫學之研究,招收碩、博士班研究生。
研究生依所學背景,分為基礎型研究生與臨床型研究生,在培訓就讀過程中,可以選擇具有基礎研究或臨床研究背景的指導教授,經過學習和訓練後可以在畢業後各自發展在基礎研究與臨床應用的志業。臨床型研究生,具醫師資格。基礎型研究生涵蓋基礎醫學、生化微免、藥學生技。
本所發展方向聚焦在結合臨床與基礎的資源上建立研究特色,朝向將基礎研究轉譯成臨床醫學的運用。未來將在現有的研究重點內,融入精準醫學Precision Medicine的核心概念與作法,結合各級單位提供的軟硬體資源,提升本所的教學和研究能力。

本所特色Features
In order to promote biomedical research and to train future qualified faculty and researchers, the Institute of Medicine, the first graduate school in Chung Shan Medical University, has initiated offering a Master of Science program and a PhD program since 1979 and 1998, respectively. Up to the present time, the institute is the only one or two organizations to offer the PhD program in the field of medicine in middle Taiwan. The institute comprises clinical medicine and basic medicine two tracks.
The master program recruits candidates with a related bachelor degree. The average study period is 2 years. Entrance to the master program is based on a written examination and review of application materials.
The PhD program recruits candidates with a related master degree or at least 2-year working experiences in the related field plus a published paper(s) equivalent to a master thesis. The study period of the PhD program is 3-7 years. Entrance to the PhD program is based on a written examination, interview and review of application materials.
本所含碩、博士班,為中部地區歷史最悠久之醫學研究所。同時是整合基礎與臨床醫學於一所,含碩、博士班之醫學研究所。The IOM includes master's and doctoral programs, and is the oldest medical research institute in the central region. At the same time, it is a medical research institute that integrates basic and clinical medicine, including master's and doctoral programs.
本所招生分臨床和基礎兩組。基礎組涵蓋基礎醫學、生化微免、藥學生技。臨床組主要在培養醫師具備發掘臨床問題,並能以分子生物學的知識與技術,訓練轉譯醫學的研究能力來解決臨床之問題。本所發展重點為癌症Cancer、高齡醫學Aging、再生醫學Regenerative medicin以及藥物研究Drug Research之研究,以提升疾病預防、早期診斷、預後評估、新藥開發以及臨床治療之效能。基礎組與臨床組互相配合,提供解決臨床問題之醫學知識與研究方法,探討疾病之分子致病機轉及藥物作用機制,例如病毒感染與癌症Cancer、癌細胞轉移之分子機轉、癌細胞早期診斷及預後評估之分子標誌,慢性疾病如糖尿病、心血管疾病之致病機轉以及藥物研究Drug Research之開發等,期望能建立基礎與臨床醫學研究相互支援之平台,達成以解決臨床問題為導向之轉譯醫學研究。
Admissions are divided into clinical and basic groups. The basic group covers basic medicine, Biochemistry and Microbial Immunity group. The clinical group mainly trains physicians to have the ability to discover clinical problems. And can use the knowledge and technology of molecular biology to train the research ability of translational medicine to solve clinical problems. The development focuses on the research of cancer, aging, stem cells and natural medicines to improve the effectiveness of disease prevention, early diagnosis, prognosis assessment, new drug development and clinical treatment . The basic group and the clinical group cooperate with each other to provide medical knowledge and research methods to solve clinical problems. Explore the molecular pathogenesis of diseases and the mechanism of drug action, such as viral infection and cancer, the molecular mechanism of cancer cell metastasis, the molecular markers of early diagnosis and prognosis assessment of cancer cells, the pathogenesis of chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases transformation and development of natural medicines, etc. It is expected to establish a platform for mutual support between basic and clinical medical research, and to achieve translational medical research oriented towards solving clinical problems.
依據本所研究特色規劃本所之教學課程。博士班必修課程主要為—轉譯醫學,上學期課程以高齡醫學Aging和生殖再生醫學Regenerative medicin為主要課程內容,下學期之課程內容則將著重於癌症Cancer和藥物研究Drug Research。因此本課程整合臨床及基礎教師之研究專長,針對疾病在臨床的診斷治療、基礎相關的分子致病機轉以及目前最新的研究結果做系統性之介紹,以期能達成本所之發展特色。
Plan the teaching courses of the institute according to the research characteristics of the institute. The compulsory courses for the doctoral program are mainly translational medicine. In the last semester, aging and reproductive stem cells are the main courses, and in the next semester, the courses will focus on cancer and natural medicine .Therefore, this course integrates the research expertise of clinical and basic teachers, and systematically introduces the clinical diagnosis and treatment of diseases, basic molecular pathogenic mechanisms and the latest research results, in order to achieve the development characteristics of the IOM
